Techniques to Improve Mobile Advertising

Welcome to marketing in the mobile world.  You’ve probably noticed just walking down the street, mobile is king.  If you’re an eCommerce retailer, mobile is still a frontier that has yet to be conquered.  And the time for brands to jump in headfirst is now!

To help you get started, we’ve put together a few techniques to improve your mobile advertising that we’ve found hugely successful.

1.  Focus on UX

This is the building block for everything in mobile marketing.  It’s the most fundamental concept, but one that often seems to take a back seat.  Take for example that, in 2015, adults in the United States spent 59% of their time on mobile devices and 41% on their desktop machine.  It might then shock you that only 15% of eCommerce dollars came from mobile devices while 85% were generated from desktops!  The key takeaway is that if your mobile user experience isn’t optimized with correctly proportioned images, fonts, and overall user-friendly browsability, your marketing efforts will be hurt.

2.  Email Subject Lines

Email marketing is a huge revenue generator.  In fact, for every $1 spent on email marketing, you can expect a $38 return on that investment.  Further, more than half of consumers open emails on their phone as opposed to desktop.  Keep your email subject lines short and sweet so that a mobile user can read the entire subject line in their quick-view on smartphones.

3.  Ensure page loading times are optimized

A 1 second decrease in page load time results in a 7% lift in website conversions.  Investigate your images, sign up forms, and overall code quality to ensure nothing is slowing you down!

4.  Ramp up Video Advertising

Video advertising is a money maker, especially on mobile.  YouTube reports a 100% growth year over year in mobile video consumption, so using video ads as a way to get in front of new users is a great path to take!

5.  Engage in Social Media

In 2017, social media is all about mobile.  By putting out content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat you’ll seamlessly create brand awareness with users who could then potentially turn into paying customers!

Mobile is growing day by day and in following these techniques to improve your mobile advertising you’ll be acquiring, converting, and retaining more customers than ever!
